Anyone know of any software controlled LEDs?

I am absolutely in love with the user controllable LED system of the Alienware desktop. I get bored of the same color quickly so I would love to be able to control my LED color via software. As far as I know, Alienware is the only way you can get this. Does any one else know of an aftermarket setup?

Corsair link cooling & lighting kit will do it but it's not cheap.

Corsair link has some controllable LEDs. Not sure if u need their h series cooling system to run but I'm also positive I saw someone using software controlled LEDs on this forum. Could be wrong but good luck to you

Hmmm. I just looked at the Corsair kit mentioned. It looks like to me you have to have your own LED strips bought separately. Is that correct?

No, you get 3 RGB strips with it and it's expandable to 33 strips.

One word... Arduino.

Use your Google-Fu to find yourself some sites with RGB Controller board tutorials for Arduino and make your own controller board - software... biggrin.gif That way you don't have to be limited to what a vendor thinks the market wants. wink.gif

This. I actually found one for very cheap... AND it has more options than the corsair crap.

Looks cool but that coding goes wayyy over my head. To be honest, even the Corsair system seems to be overkill for what I want. I just want something where I can go into a program in Windows and say "hey I want my LEDs blue or green" and change them. I don't care for all that temperature zone monitoring BS that comes with the link lol.

Lmao its simple, copy and paste the code. -_- You don't have to do any coding yourself.
And with this, yes you can tell it be blue or green. I am going to do this, i think. Its fairly cheap too. You can even power it off your PSU.
