so overall do you think I would be ok with my setup if I were to run max with 4xMSAA? looks like on Caspian you were getting around 74 fps without MSAA, what was your CPU usage like? Thank you for doing that for me!

I have heard the 2600 can be OCed by doing something with the BCLCK but I was also told this could cause system instability since it overclocks the whole system.

Online maybe 45-50 avg without AA. I haven't really checked much. Felt smooth enough in heavy action so I just left it alone. I use triple monitors though so we can't really compare.

You have a 42x multiplier on the i7-2600.

Personally, yes. If you've got the VRAM, than crank it all up.

I'd personally try to squeeze every drop of Mhz out of your CPU though. Those cards will really shine then.

And no problem. thumb.gif

really so does that mean I could get 4.2Ghz with a non K 2600 CPU? that is some good news if that is true. Would that help out the 580s a little bit do you think?

A 4.2Ghz overclock would definitely help feed your 580's.

Hell, I only run my 2600K at 4.7Ghz without HT and it's more than enough for my 470's.

can anyone here confirm from their experience that the 2600 non K has a multiplier that can be used to overclock it? This would be AWESOME!!!

EDIT: what im reading is the only thing that can overclock is the boos speed which is only useful if running on 1 core. frown.gif
