Dual-Core E5300 OverClocked

Thread Starter
Hy , i have a Intel Dual-Core E5300 2600 Mhz 800 FSB, and i have overclocked it and so far it is at 3447 Mhz, 1068 FSB and its working fine ..
My motherboard is an ASRock G41M-VS3 Rev 2.0, i have 2x2 Gb DDR3 1333 Corssair in dual-channel and since the overclock they are runing at FSB 1068 same as the e5300 .
I can say that in idle the temperature is the same as when it was at 2600 Mhz , core1 37 degress and core2 35 degress. I runned prime95, and maxed temperature for core1 was like 56 degress and lower for core2. I am using intel stock cooler, i think im gona replace it , will try to get lower temps for core1 and core2. So at memory clock: 3447 MHZ with FSB 1068 the E5300 is stable. I runned Windows experience Index ( Windows 7 64 bit) and it gaved CPU and RAM: 6.7 mark.
Well thats about it, my GPU i have Gainward radeon 4850 HD 512 DDR3 256 bit, but is the OC model with bandwitch 70.4Gb/s . Its actually a very good gpu, it runs in battlefield 3 all max graphics , and the highest temperature is 76 degress.

update's on my post: i am changing my stock cooler, it is the one with Al base and Not copper, and its radiator its bigger and I'm putting a new ventilator on it with 4 wires , it runs at 3000 rpm, much faster then the stock one which maxes at 2300 rpm.

if under full load the temperature is only 56ºC there is no need to change anything...

but you are only going to change the fan of the original intel cooler?

I forgot to tell you , When E5300 was at 2600 Mhz 800 FSB and RAM was also at FSB 800, 3DMark vantage had like 6445 Points ,now, with 3447 Mhz and FSB both CPU & Ram at 1068 , 3DMark Vantage gaved 7454 or something like that , its like 1000 points the difference. The settings where the same at 3DMark Vantage. Tonight i will change the cooler and do some test to see hows the temps at cores.

ah, OK
I've been thinking about doing the same thing to a intel cooler I have (from a C2D e6300, with the cooper base), but I was searching to see if I could find anyone that did something similar, to see how much it can improve but didn't found anything,

as for the score, is looking good,
when I was using a e5400 at 3.75GHz with a Radeon HD5750 at 750/5000 I think it did around 7900-8100, CPU score was 6400 I think, but my ram is slower,

Hy i am back again with new updates: I placed on the copper based radaitor a new FAN with 3000 rpm and its super cooling smile.gif) I used prime95 for about and half and hour and it maxed 49 degress !! i Thinks the temp is super. The stock did 56 degress maxed. So its like 7 degress diference. HMBR you should try to .. its a little work to place the fan on the radiator but you can do it.

hi i have the same processor and motherboard G41M-VS3 but not is rev 2.0 and i like aply OC yo may tell me wath things in bios i have change? i try to raise the processor changing ratio CMOS setting 13 12.5 12 etc etc, CPU frequency, but i cant, i dont know why, only up the DRAM frequency when raise cpu frequency but the speed of processor not, i have the bios 1.70 recently installed, maybe is that? i'll be so gratefull if you tell me the steps you do for OC the processor smile.gif sorry for my english im not from nort america!! waiting for your answer.....bye

hy i have read youy post, uhm what processor do you have ? the first of all you have to DISABLe if you have In BIOS IntelSpeedStep, then, you have to SET tu CPU Freq to MANUAl so you can change , THE CMO has to be 13, and your setting the ratio , i have it 257 . My standard is 200 x 13 = 2600, now i have 257 * 13 = 3300 aproximately. So try to change the ratio of CPU. Dont jump it directly to 250, go step by step from 200 which i think u have standard , to 210 then 220 and test it and check temperature to see it its stable. Also what cooler do you have ?

76 degrees? that's crazy hot for your CPU and only 3.4Ghz. Get some better cooling on there.
