My pump is old

Thread Starter
How do you know if you pump is wearing out, my computer over heated today and shut it self down to prevent damage to my computer and i touched the outlet hose of the pump and it was warmer than the inlet hose of the pump, has anyone seen the or herd about this, I mean pumps do dump a bit of heat in to the loop but I've never being able to feel the heat in the hose.

My pump is one of those Danger Dans CSP-MAG, its low pressure pump its amazing it lasted this long, its now ticking loud enough that i can hear it over the fans.

anyway I believe the pump iss on the way out but I've never killed one before so I don't know.

I've never killed a pump either, but they are only supposed to be used for so many hours before the bearings fail. It's very possible that your pump is dead or dying.

Any pump making unusual rattle noise is a likely indicator of failure of some sort. You could open it up and look, but unless you had debris break loose, a rattle like sound is not good.

I've got other reasons for replacing it, I might replace it and keep as as spare, I need a pump with more pressure it can't cope with my new processor a AMD 1090T Black edition.
