Would there happen to be a better fan than the Zalman CNPS9500? - Page 5

stay away from 9500.
I did everything, changed orientation of the fan and the temperature won't go below 42C at idle.

from discussions with others running the E6600 and comparable coolers ...

you'll most likely see temps like the following when testing at ambient temps of 24C (75.2F):

at most: 3.7ghz (load at mid to high 60's)
mid range: 3.5 (load at upper 50's to low 60's)
low end clock: 3.3 (load at mid to upper 50's)

if your ambient is lower than 24, then you can expect better and better numbers.

when you get your system set up ... post some temps and clock speeds ...

i'm testing some new settings on my E6400 at the moment; testing at 3.6ghz with some new memory timings ... my ambient is 24 and so far dual prime95 has averaged around 60C after 30 minutes ...

with your chosen cooler ... you should get about the same ratios of clock speed to temps if your ambients are similar.

well nevermind then, sine it is a out of stock cooler, i think it would be alright then.

anyways, thanks very much for that, im sure u were refering to the Tuniq Tower of course. i guess yourself own one?

also, i burst out laughing due to my stupidity last night, this is because wheni know u can mount a fan on the Tuniq Tower, i did not know it was a fan u side in the middle of the cooler! i thoguht what the?? is that were the fan goes? man im stupid! and this got me thinking, no wonder its a good cooler, that particular design of that couldnt get better.

i thought it was ought to be mount on the front and i was even thinking myself to modd a fan so i could but 2 fans, one on front and one at the back.

but since u can acheive great cooling with the fan itself in the middle, would it be possible to mount another fan but at the front with the orignal fan in the middle slotted inside may i ask?

Im surprised that the Big Typhhon isn't getting more of a mention....

The new model BT VX has redesigned clips which make installation a breeze.

Has anyone had any experience with the new Scythe Ninja Plus 1100P?

me wants a tuniq tower bad, ill give you my 9500 for it, the 9500 isnt bad actually, i use it and i get 29c idles (this reading was done in the bios) not sure about precise loads, but ocing a proc isnt that hard it just go into bios, usually by hitting delete right when you turn the system on and find somthing called jumper free config(or possibly overclocking config) and modify the fsb (somtimes called external clock) in small jumps of about 5mhz and there you go you've started ocing
