My only perk now is... umm .., well ... getting screwed?
Only problem is going to Sprint or Verizon will cost me almost $80 more a month (but will get unlimited data with sprint and unlimited texting with both (which I don't use), and triple my minutes (which I don't need) for my 3 phones.

How is it getting screwed when you are getting a data plan that would cost you 260% more at the next best price?

he's getting screwed because he signed a contract stating that he pays 30.00/month for UNLIMITED data...not just 3gb...thats called getting screwed....want some more att koolaid??

profit is fine, but at&t puts it above all else, even when they post record earnings.

At&t has crappy customer service, and crappy service in general and thats before i even talk about their internet

edit: and judging by your other responses, you either work for at&t, have connections within at&t so you get actual service, or you just signe a 2 year contract with them and is trying to justify it on OCN

If i do sign the 2 year contract with them (im prolly not, sprint seems like the best way to go right now even if they dont use SIM cards), i will probably agree with you too

I've told this story before. AT&T's service got so bad where I lived in Florida that they started using subcontractors rather than phone company technical employees to make more profit. Of course, I had to troubleshoot the issue because the subcontractor didn't know how to test wire-by-wire unless he had a handheld unit to display it for him on a read-out.

I left AT&T completely 7 months ago. I have no regrets.

They don't guarantee a speed, if you want to get technical. So, they aren't breaking any agreement.

If I paid a flat rate of $200 a month and there was no guarantee of how much I could use at a time after 1500kwh a month I would be okay with that.

very typical of AT&T, too bad in some areas, at&t is the only option. I had a friend who lived in an at&t area whose internet is soo bad, only after the entire neighborhood petitioned in one unified protest did at&t actually do something about it

I've dropped my data plan and I don't miss it one bit. I still use my Droid 2 as an ebook reader, and for games. At home. where I have reliable Wi-Fi, I'll use it for a few other things, but I can honestly say I have not been impacted by not having a smartphone, and my bill is half of what it used to be.

When does it turn unlimited? 56k? 1mbps? 10mbps? 1000gbps? 100000tbps? It is unlimited use at whatever bandwidth you happen to get. Don't pretend you thought they guaranteed you a speed.
