Should I get a console over PC? - Page 4

Aren't you the same schmuck who posted that MMOs are for nerds and losers? Stick to the console community.

Well PC gets my vote. For one there are mods for a lot of games that you just can't do with consoles. I have a XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 both boxed up an in the closet because I just got tired of dusting them off since there were never on anymore. For me there just was not a lot of replay value in console games.

But that is all up to how you play if you just want to rent with no replay value at all then get a console. For me my gaming rig is my hobby so that is were I put my money and time.

Well ill be damned he is. Besides didnt you already post this question no mroe then a few hours ago? Well anyways games are cheaper on pc. I got quite a bit of games on steam sales for just about $5 or $2 each if you calculate the whole purchase. I got Kingdom of Amalur Reckoning on release date for just $30. its not hard to find deals just gotta look. The online mod community is also huge for your games so if the devs stop the dlcs someone out there is going to release something, BF2, HL series, and Skyrim have a great modding community.

Honestly, I bought a PS3 a few months ago and all I use it for now is as a media centre.

Gamefly allows paying members to play "unlimited pc games" as they say, whatever that means. You will more than likely need a console or two for a couple big ticket exclusives (God of War, MGS, HALO, Gears of War), other than that, most titles include a pc release.

If you go pc, make sure you spend enough money to make it to where the games look better than the consoles, otherwise you're wasting your time/money.

BTW, you can buy a PS3 and 360 for around $500 total. A halfway decent video card for a pc is going to cost you at least that much, so build a decent pc first, than go buy the consoles.

I have a pc, 360, PS3, Wii, DS, and PSP. Overkill? Maybe, but each gets used in its own right and I enjoy the freedom of being able to play ANY game released.

That's my two cents anyhow........

overall, games on PC are cheaper. of course you end up paying more for the PC itself, so if you already have a gaming system i see no reason to change.

Then why the question, "Should I get a console over PC?"

I'm assuming he wants to sell said sig rig and purchase a console? OP phrase your question more intelligently so you don't waste peoples time. I heard gamefly is leaning towards providing to the PC community as well with a cloud type system... not sure if that's still in the works or not though.
