Agreed. I'm extremely pleased with the hardware, my only complaints are non-replaceable battery, proprietary memory card format, and no internal storage.

Don't worry the battery IS replaceable if you have any skills what so ever. Being an overclock.neter I would assume you are more than capable of replacing it or upgrading it.

Have it, love it, almost beat it on the very first attempt, made it through about 25 of the 30 stages. Also love the PS store, 100+ PSP games at my fingertips for only $20-$29. I have a PSP but I lost interest in it after awhile, but now I might pick up a few titles like FF4 collectors edition, or the God of War games.
Yes, but just like consoles vs PC, the Vita is dedicated hardware without the drivers to slow it down. Also the controls are much higher quality with 8 buttons, a D-pad, and two analog thumbsticks. The game quality will be much higher on a gaming console, because you're paying $30-$40 for a game, as opposed to only a couple of dollars for a mobile phone/tablet game. Dont forget the sizes of the games, most iPhone games are far under 1GB, but with Vita games your looking at multiple gigs. The hardware may have similarities, but the games are miles apart.

Guess so.

I think that in 2-3 years time, the smartphone, tablet and PMP gaming scene would be very near to fully fledged PSP/VITA games that cost less than 10 bucks WITH 360/PS3/Logitech controller support. Maybe not as packed as 40-50 dollar VITA games but the experience would be so similar it may ask you the value of those expensive VITA games.

The VITA isn't exactly as portable either so lugging a tablet/pmp and a controller wouldn't seem too bad of an alternative especially if you usually bring a tablet/pmp on a daily basis. Don't tablets and PMPs have more productivity as well through apps and more apps in the future?

I was surprised the iOS and Android already had an MMO (Chaos and Order). I also think the Angry Birds analogy is getting bad unless they meant "games with somewhat similar experience but with obvious lack of depth relative to.."

OFC my statements are "maybes" but IMO very plausible.

2-3 years can be a very long time though. Vita may pick up traction, get hacked for complete Android Market accessibility, improved browser performance, price drop in MMC and core package etc.

Very exciting regardless what happens IMO smile.gif

The VITA will sure to have good competition from release date to end of life cycle unless all of its hardware (core and accessories) and software becomes priced aggressively.

It may be so, but like the iPhone it doesn't have flash, and unlike the iPhone it has no Youtube support. Hopefully at the very least a youtube app will be release.

Really? I'd love to see some proof though.

This and some other videos say so otherwise.

Wish it'll have html5 and youtube app support asap.

Personally, I would be content with the VITA's browser today. All I do is check some articles with internet enabled PMP's anyway.. and some youtube here and there smile.gif .. Wouldn't know about other spenders tho.
