Fortunately my wife is a gamer too, so I lucked out on that one. Still, that doesn't take away from our personal responsibilities outside of work.

Portable consoles have lost their appeal to me.. My iPod was rendered obsolete by a headphone amp at home and my phone on the go.. I just don't have enough pockets or time to fiddle around with that many devices, even if one of them has new Final Fantasy releases.

The only real disadvantage to not owning one of these devices is that you miss out on exclusive titles. Crisis Core was a brilliant game that I'm glad I had a chance to play, so I may end up owning a vita in the distant future.

Just asking but what different is a wife make from a girlfriend ?
i dated with my girlfriend for 28 years and she not my wife.. what different does it make ?
I am 42 - full time job (pharmacist) with 3 kids, and the vita fits me.
what does age have to do with handheld gaming ?
I sit with the crew during breaks and play my 3DS, what does that make me ? A human being.

Agreed, I'm not sure why some people think gaming is childish or unprofessional. In fact, my profession is making games. tongue.gif

Slightly related: 2.5 hours till I get to pick up my Vita. Woot.

Personally, when I leave my house, I usually don't t plan on playing full featured games, as some were comparing earlier in the thread "basically ps3 games," on the go, that's what I have a PC for. I have a dual core phone that still isn't fully utilized by nearly anything, and I'm alright with that, mostly because I don't want to play eye catching super flashy in depth games when I'm on the go, I wouldn't focus and appreciate the quality of the device, and when I do have time for that, I'm on my PC or at my job where I have access to a rig that can also game, so no worries there. Sure, I can play a cartoony game that doesn't captivate my mind and interest me nearly as much as a full title, and that's what I will do on my GS2 smile.gif

TL;DR: I don't think gaming on the go fits me, so I'm not buying.

note: I'm glad to see the device isn't as bad as some of the rumors leading up to the launch were about battery, graphics, and limitations.

I just read a topic on XDA forum earlier today and a developers of Modern Combat is trying to get Sony approval for porting MC3; Falling Nations on to the Vita biggrin.gif

I've always been a phone junkie, I'll save the 300 towards my next phone. There's just so much more that can be done.

And Im sure Angry Birds will appreciate all that power.

First, I have to say if you haven't married your girlfriend after 28 years of dating, you're doing it wrong. I married mine after 5, and even then, I think I may have waited too long. I'm not sure that's something I would be proud of if I were in your shoes. It sounds like you've basically made a lifelong commitment if you two have been together this long, so unless you guys live in different places, she's basically your wife in every way except for the "exchange of vows" part.

I'm glad your job allows for you to have a handheld in the work place. Mine does not. Usually my "break" is a planning period that I use to prepare for the following days. If I'm not doing that, I'm making phone calls or writing request forms and other administrative tasks.

Now, I'm glad the Vita fits you. You are a rare exception compared to most adults your age. Most people have careers and subsequent lives that leave little time or use for a handheld console.

Therefore a girlfriend and a wife is the same, with an exception of the vow part. ?

now explain to me why did you say this ?

As soon as that gf turns into a wife, say goodbye to the "plenty of time" you currently have.

Even if me and my girlfriend get married, our life would still be the same, nothing going to change between us. Ours daily activities will be the same before/after we get married.

I consider my job is one of the tough job out there, one wrong decision and someone life is in danger.

You said I am one of those "rare" exception, what make you think others are not ?

My point here is, what does gaming have to do with age ? Playing Fruit Ninja on your phone make you more manly and mature than me playing Uncharted on my Vita ?
