PartitionMagic allows you to create multiple partitions without formatting a hard drive.

There are many other options but that is the only one and most common method that I know of.

Get partition magic I think its up to 8 now but I use 7... If it wasn.t for a brown out in the middle of moving files I would have had a 160 partitioned into 2 80's. Unforutnately I ended up with a borked XP on one partition and a 7.8 mb partition I havent quite figured out how to get back yet lol

Shaggyt

I'm gonna buy a battery backup before I try it again

Attachment 32576

Wonder what I can store on that

QTParted is a good one...you can get it on a bootable CD. That's how I partitioned my last drive without losing any info.

I'm thinking of trying Vista beta just to see what I might be missing. Is there such thing as a triple boot?

Yup, you can have like a....trillion boot, if you wanted to...GRUB should take care of all of it, if you have Grub...Lilo, or whatever works too, but I like Grub way better.

Yes but the data on the partition being merged is saved into a folder called old or something like that....
