upgrade to 8gb or 16gb of RAM? - Page 2

4GB x2 Dimm. is my preferences not 4 dimm which may impact on OC but to be honest. I had 4dimm all OC without issues.

Second notes, it is all depends on what you are going to run on your computer. For example I do a lot of video editing while running a game + Virtual Machine and etc. 12GB+ beyond is recommended.

While 8GB is certainly more than enough it sounds like RAM is going to start going back up in price so it would be better to get more now

Not to be a troll here but will you explain to me how you are possibly able to multi-task playing a game like a first person shooter while editing video and running a virtual machine at the same time?

Unless you mean you are ENCODING video, not actively editing, and playing SOLITAIRE on your virtual machine of LINUX or something.

Not to be frank. I've been multitasking for all my life in production. There is no reason why I can't do that when I'm at home while playing a game.

Zero lags while doing that which I am quite surprised by my desktop "Nitro" too. Adobe Premier Pro + SWTOR @ 2560x1440 running while recording on RAID 0 is just smooth as butter.

I'm not trolling nor kidding and I've done it for many times. RAM usage was up to 9GB out 12GB on Nitro rig.

*edited*

I figure why you ask how am I video editing at the same time playing FPS... I wasn't playing FPS but MMO which I can let it run idle at the background.
