Apocaly does it really need 1.5v to do 5.0Ghz or is that just what you used?

Nice overclocks guys!

My 2600K at 5.0Ghz : http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1720733
Took a good bit more vcore to get 5.4Ghz: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1751813

Like I said and so many other before, it's solely dependent on the CPU itself. My 2500k is power hungry lol it takes 1.48v to boot at 5ghz and 1.52 to bench.
This thing is much more voltage tolerant lol!!!

This is all great info. I'm still waiting on a few parts to come in before I can swap my set up over. The mobo and ram and 2550k are just sort of sitting here atm, and I know I can put it in and run it on the 212 evo I have already but since I have the XSPC rasa 360 on the way It just seems like it would be a waste to set it all up only to rip it up a second time to install and leak test the water kit. I really can't wait to get it in and start finding a good OC for it. It's going to be a huge jump in performance over my C2Q! keep the info coming guys just looking @ numbers in the screens is informative for me thumb.gif

Ya I know been OCing for a while. wink.gif Was just wondering if his chip really needed that much to do 5.0Ghz..
Never know he might have it set to auto for vcore and we all know it can over volt most of the time on auto.

The biggest thing you might regret about your motherboard choice is the fact its not GEN3 compatible. Other than that sounds good smile.gif I LOVE my setup.

Your idle temp seems REALLY high for a H80??

I Have the Corsair H50 (oldddd school) with IC Diamond 7 TIM and my idle temps are 26,27,26,28!!

The highest stable overclock i get on my i5 2500k is 4.6ghz @ 1.328v. Anything over and I get BSOD or lockups. Probably down to my cooler rather than the chip / motherboard though as it doesnt matter how much voltage i pump into it!

I think most Z68XP-UD3P is now rev 1.3, which is Gen3 compatible. If it is 1.0 then it does not support PCIe 3.0.
