With all the issues EVGA is having with X79 I am not surprised this is taking forever to be released.... not the least bit surprised.

Looks like a amazing board just like the SR-2 was, I wish I could afford a build such as this.

Only 6 sata ports? If I was building something crazy like this with dual CPUs, I would need at least 8.

It has 2 SAS ports (bottom right corner of the board) that each push 4 SATA 3s. So there's 10 SATA 3 and 4 SATA 2, all of which are driven by the intel controller. No crappy third party controllers.

ya I highly doubt that is the only reason... but of course. This board will not be out any time soon for a number of factors. I would touch a X79 board from EVGA, check out there user forums if you need insight of why I say that.

It's not X79, though. It's C600. EVGA has an obvious history of being late to the party... god willing this board wont be too late.
