[TPU] EVGA SR-X Dual-Socket LGA 2011 Motherboard Teased Some More - Page 15

So from the looks of this I better up my budget just in case. Honestly I want a pc that is going to last me till at least whatever comes after Haswell which looks to be Broadwell (according to that crappy encyclopedia) unless Ivy or Haswell are absolutely mind blowing.

My build so far:

(2) Intel Xeon E5-2690
(1) EVGA SR-X
(1)Cooler Master Cosmos II
(12) 8gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @ 1600mhz 1.5v
(4) PowerColor Radeon 7970 OR (4) EVGA GTX 680

Suggest stuff for the rest... tongue.gif

What you mean is the 24 pin connector on the board is so awesome it will bow down to NO ONE biggrin.gif

So lets clear this up since I'm still confused. SR-X = up to 8 sata 3 ssds. 4 on mini sas, the rest on the sata ports?

Sweet! An EVGA rep smile.gif

I have a few questions (that I don't honestly expect u to be able to answer, but it's worth a shot)
1) can u confirm the number of sas and SATA ports?
2) why only 12 dimm slots as opposed to 16? (more out of curiosity then anything else)
3) will all 7 x16 ports be able to run @x8 simultaneously? (I honestly don't expect an answer for this one, but couldn't hurt tongue.gif... And simply from a # or lanes perspective, it should work smile.gif)

Got a very very early rig put together. Still needs a PSU and what not. But I'm liking it so far.

Edit: Anyone even know what kind of wattage I'd need to run this monster?

Edit: 1659w at peak load with watercooling.

Your average EVGA rep frightens easily. Do not look them in the eyes or they may take this as a sign of aggression. Asking them too many questions at one time will send them running back into the undergrowth.

Think this PSU will get me by? This is honestly the highest wattage I could find
