if you dont mind me asking, how do you get 80 electrical PCI lanes worth out of only 1 chip?

PCI-E lanes are generated by 1st CPU only.

Also, is a PCI-E 3.0 bridge chip under the chipset cooler. Total it has 48 lanes.

Even my wife, who happened to be reading over my shoulder at the time and is my main opposition to buying upgrades (i.e., the voice of reason for our college student budget) said this looked cool.

I think it might be a step up from my current rig, no?

The Xeons are almost here, bros. I just noticed tonight that intel is beginning to update their sites with the E5 info and the entries for some of their new boards. Search "intel s2600ip4" in google and the first link should be to intel's spanish site. It describes the board in pretty good detail. A lot of the links and stuff don't work, but these CPUs are almost here for sure. Here's a pic of the Xeon E5 spalsh page in case they take it down:

HEre's the link to above: http://www.intel.com/content/www/xl/es/processors/xeon/xeon-processor-5000-sequence.html
