Why do I struggle to fit Lamptron controllers into 5.25in bays? - Page 2

I think the best solution right now is to modify the fan controller, not the case.

Its possible its a defect in the production line, ill have to look into it further, but I get all of the prototypes for testing so I have the prototype controllers of all that you have mentioned and they all have fit perfectly into my case, I wish i had taken pictures of each one. Let me see what I can find out from corporate, as far as i know only the corsair 800D issue has been addressed most recent, Ive been hearing the name come up alot through company emails.

It may be something like Jim mentions in this thread http://www.overclock.net/t/1210409/lamptron-fan-controller-fitment-issues.

Either way it will be benificial for Lamptron to take a closer look. Anyways thank you everyone for your responses.

Another equally important test you should be performing is whether your products meet the specification, which is 42.3mm high and 148mm wide, along with the first mounting hole 52.4mm from its face. teaching.gif

My FC6 (Purchased from Platinum Micro) doesn't fit flush in the Fractal Design Arc Midi case.

The bottom image is as close as I could get it towards the front face plate.

Im being told that additional mounting holes were added to all the new designs to accommodate different cases.

Yeah I had the same problem with my FC-3 in my FT-02. I had to force that thing in like you wouldn't believe. In my current HAF 932 it fit really tight and the faceplate must be a bit bent. That is a huge issue that they need to address.

This is bad news, i really wanted a FC5 v2, but don't want do use force to get it in my Lian Li case as Azakai said. Oh well, it's the only fan controller that i can gt my hands on pretty easy that can power a WC pump.

Yeah, same thing with FC2 with my 922.
This is what made me take out the dremel and mod an otherwise-pristine case frown.gif.

Whoever thought of that should be shot, tongue cut out, and the tongue shot. And beard trimmed (is that excessive enough?).

Yup, that right there is the problem. Its as if they never shoved one into a 5.25 drive bay before shipping. It a pretty ridiculous design flaw.
