1100t, Fx-8120, Fx-8150, Best Available AMD cpu for gaming and video editing?

Thread Starter
Hey guys i already have a AMD motherboard and i want to upgrade from my FX-4100 CPU. I would like to know what is the BEST available AMD CPU that i can buy. I play games like BF3 and also do some video and photo editing. I dont have the budget to switch over to intel just yet. These are my options and i would like to be sure that i buy the absolute best that AMD offers.

From what I've seen 1100t outperforms both in Cinebench. But I don't know if that's still true. I'd go with 1100t in the case. thumb.gif But I love my FX-8150. Whever you pick I hope it works for you! smile.gif

Well I would have to say 1100T but I doubt that you will find one. My bro tried to buy one last week and had his orders canceled by 3 different retailers because they are out of stock and most likely will never be stocked again. He also tried looking at eBay and people were putting a $500 price tag on it which is crazy.

Your best bet is to go with a FX-8150/1120.
If your feeling lucky you could try and buy a used 1100T but personally I would never buy a used CPU

1100T Hands down. Pick up a used one for ~140....

Or a brand new Zosma and unlock it.

Phenom 2 X6 > BD.

Or wait for PD.

I would go with the 1100T and the Asus sabertooth motherboard if you can afford it. I have that combo and I overclocked it to 4.0 in about 20 minutes lol the bios is super easy to navigate and the chip is great for gaming or video editing.

I'm running a phenom x6 1055T and do alot of video editing. It works very well, aslong as the program you are using uses the cores you have.

That said, If your primary focus is video editing, more cores is never bad. an 8120 can be had for $200, assuming your program is heavily threaded and uses compression, the extra cores could pay off for you:thumb:

Although, what card are you using? the BD only bottlenecks on powerful GPU's. If you are running an everyday GPU, you might not seen much performance increase in games.
