Intel vs amd - $80

Thread Starter
Whitch $80 proc would you buy, the amd athlon ii x3 455 or the intel pentium g580? The sandy is faster clock for clock and better the gaming, the x3 is better for multithreded stuff and has the possableity of an unlock to athlon/phenom x4. And if you were to use the onboard gpu, whats better, intel hd 2000 or amd radeon hd 4250 (880g chip)? Also the cost of the mobos should factor in, as of now the 880g boards and the intel h61/h67 are priced around $80, so give your input!

hmm..if you have no dedicated graphics card..i'd go for the RANA
hd4250>intel graphics

or you could get an h61 mobo ($55)
pentium g620 for $80 (even the celeron g530 is pretty good) (i have one)($55)
and a dedicated graphics card:
like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131338 ($32)

and have a notch better graphics(than either onboard) and a snappy desktop biggrin.gif

if you want to go all out now, get the athlon because it can unlock to a quadcore, plus the HD4250 should be faster than intel HD graphics.

but if you plan on upgrading later, the pentium is a better choice because its board can take an i5 cpu.

When comparing processors from both AMD and intel; Use this logic: When it comes to the same amount of cores at the same price, Intel wins.
