X4 965be running hot, Compared to x6 1090t?

I have a question. I've had a x4 965 for over a year. One day I noticed it running kinda hot. Idling around 40c or something like that instead of lower 30's c. I went out and bought hyper n520 lowered it down to 32c.... Today I swapped my 965be for x6 1090t. My buddy's computer won't run it crashes alot. He says it's his motherboard so I'm testing his CPU. Anyway, I check and the x6 is running at 19c , compared to the lower 30s my 965be runs at. Everything in my case is the same but temps are rediculiously low. Can a chip one day just start running hotter? Or I guess maybe i should ask do x6 1090t run cold?

Yeah the x6 Phenom II's run a lot cooler than the 965. I had a 965 before and it ran warm. My brother had the 1090T and his temps were similar to yours.

Ty for the info. Good to know my 965 doesn't want to fry its self. However if this is a good chip and doesn't crash it's going to prob stay in this computer and I'm going to crank up the juice lol. I had my 965 run for 4.5 hrs on prime at 3952mhz (208x19). If I can get the x6 up to that or higher should I keep it? Or is the 965 better. I use my pc for gaming mostly.

x6's use less voltage(i think) than x4's, so that's why they tend to run cooler and overclock a little better

No, it's just that the X6 temp sensor is inaccurate, at least at idle temps.
What's the room temperature? Because if it's higher than 19C, ... you know the conclusion.
