Hello,

Finnaly decided on a 7950, I have a max buget of $479 and I am currently looking from NCIX. The cards i have on my short list are the XFX double D, Core edition and the powercolor OC edition. The lower the price, the better but what you you guys suggest? (And no i cannot raise my buget anymore)

Thanks in advance!

If you're talking about this Powercolor, you're all good!

This card comes with a BIOS switch that gives this the possibility to unlock the card aka 6950 / 6970 PCS+ version.

EDIT: I checked out NCIX and it seems the cards are the same. It's weird that they call it differently but the box says PCS+ (if you enlarge it) while the ports are the same (2x Mini DP, DVI, HDMI) and it's also clocked to 880 MHZ. Try and reach out to them to confirm. This is a very good card!

Just wondering, is this one a referance board, or have its own overclocking program that allowes overvolting? I am a huge overclocker tongue.gif

It's actually a non-reference design since it sports a revamped PCB design compared to the reference card.

Here's the actual quote from the Tech Power Up review:

"PowerColor's HD 7950 PCS+ is a full custom implementation of the HD 7950. It comes with a revamped PCB design, a new dual fan cooler and increased clock speeds of 880 MHz out of the box. Unfortunately memory is still clocked at 1250 MHz, like the reference design."

There's actually a beta for MSI AB that has the 7970 and 7950 working.
