Yes I am on stock cooler and yes I plan on getting a aftermarket cooler when I get the money. But isent the idle temp even for six cores a bit high?
Thanx for any help.redface.gif

Whats your CPU volts, NB/CPU speed, NB volts, and ram volts at? Ps you air flow looks good and nice wire managment

I have since added a 120mm Rad in push/pull and a full block for my 6950 which I could not have done with a closed loop setup like the H70. My CPU temps are around 26c idle and 33c full load. On the stock headsink fan I was running around 42c idle before overclocking and now I am running at 4ghz and maintaining the same idle and load temps of 26c/33c.
If you do go for a full loop best advice would be to read everything you can and plan your build before you buy any parts so you know exactly what you need when it is time. I went with the XSPC 750 RS240 because the kit contains everything you need but the coolant.

Those kits are awesome, I went with the RX250 and did a push/pull air on the rad and that thing rocks and yes it has everything and a really good $70 CPU block. I'm surprised more people here don't have one because the RS250 is priced just $30 over a H100 and is a full water loop that can be upgraded.

Everything is at stock except for HT wich is at 2000MHz, cpu multi wich is x19 (3.8GHZ)and CPU vid wich is at 1.38v. Everything else is stock.

Did not get into OC ing everything as I just wanted to play a bit with the CPU speed. See how much I can get away with on stock cooler.

Now I can see why other posters were saying to check your cooler and make sure its on tight and you applied thermal paste correctly. Unlocking you CPU to 6 cores would make you CPU a regular 6 core CPU, meaning your temps should at least be what a regular 6 core cpu temps would be. And there not; there a tad higher. Also are those your VCORE temps or CPU TEMPS you're posting? And what are the temps with 4 cores?

Well im overclocking now with 4 cores @ 3.8GHZ and vcore 1.35v With max load temp of 46c according to coretemp.

EDIT: My idle temp now with a OC of 3.8GHz is 30c....I think I figured out what was wrong. My sabertooth board was setting the Vcore way to high at stock settings it was like 1.42 - 1.45 at everything stock, and it disabled cool n queit and all that junk.

After taking control of manual settings and not auto I have been able to get a high-ish OC and a lower vcore, resulting in a now 30c idle. The board stock seems to wanna pump my chip full of unnecessary voltage.

Glad you figured it out, It looked like you possibly had high voltages somewhere, congrats Those are normal/good temps for stock air. That happens sometimes when you leave settings on auto, I had the with NB/CPU Voltages my MOBO would set it to 1.5 volts to make up changes I did the CPU/NB frequencies But that you got it figured why arn't you unlocking the cores.
