This is pretty old news/sorta common knowledge...

There's a reason indie development has dropped off drastically on consoles in the last year (The main reason i got back into PC gaming again last year tongue.gif). These guys are tired of MS/Sony's crap, and they're seeing much higher profit margins on the PC platform than they are on consoles...

Even worse... This encourages devs to release paid DLC along with the needed patches to soak up the cost of patching the game...

I imagin part of the cost goes into having MS employes look over the code to make sure it doesn't contain anything that can be exploited to hack there system.

I was talking to a developer in PS Home about a year ago or so, and they stated that not only does it take a crap ton of money to push out any changes, content, etc it take them anywhere from 3 to 12 weeks for even a simple fix to be pushed through. It's retarded. An example would be Dungeon Defenders. Considered one of the best indie games of all time and extremely popular only has had like 2 patches on PS3 and like 2 DLC's. On PC it's had over 3 dozen patches and around 12 DLC packs.

Yeah DunDef was an extreme example of console gamers getting heavily screwed.

In the first month and half after the game got released, it received something like 15 patches. Not only that, but all the paid and non-paid DLC PC gamers were getting just added salt to the console gamers wounds.

They had to wait until Shards got released (Over 2 months after the game's release), and even after the release of Shards console gamers needed to wait something like 3 weeks for MS/Sony to verify everything and ONLY THEN did console gamers get much needed patches that PC gamers got from Day 1...

Because of that fact alone, a good portion of the DunDef console playerbase, rebought the game on PC or quit playing it altogether...
