XP repair question

Thread Starter
I had a problem with a driver in XP and couldnt get my comp to boot. So I inserted the xp cd and repaired windows by reinstalling it over the top of my existing one so I wouldnt lose any files. That seemed to work.

I just wanted to make sure this is ok and I wont have problems down the road due to this technique.

Thanks!

You did it by the XP numbers, as long as you selected "Repair", sounds like you did.

IMHO, I would do regular backups (weekly). This simple task that takes about 5-10 minutes (varies even more..) will give you piece of mind and keep your data secure.

Woops! that's peace, not piece...

P.S. Not to be a fatalist, but if there's a fire, flood or invasion, I have the cat in one hand and the HDD in the other, and I'm gone!

P.S. I'm having a issue with data now. I may have to format my HDD, but I have recent backups, so all is cool. This applies to "problems down the road."
