If you happen to somehow take it out and put it back in your car ... then are worried about water mixing with electricity again, next time you can just stroll over to eBay and spend $8 shipped.

let it dry for ages. IF you have some of those hard silica gel beads, use them You know the ones factories pack everything with (like shoes and bags) and it says do not eat on the packet. They are used to absorb moisture.
