Nice work there, I wouldnt trust that booster device too much, I'd take it apart and examine the internals, make sure its quality.. I'm no engineer but i'd check it to make sure all the proper safety features are implemented and no corners was cut, I've seen PSU that claims 550w, only to push it at 450 and it'll catch fire then blow up literally... most of them are Made in China knock offs or direct fakes..

I got a 1200 + 750 Corsair AX series, no problems what so ever..

I also have a Silverstone 1200 and 540 in use for another rig, also quality written all over it..

After owning 23s, I really think thats a tad big in portrait mode. So I'm going for three Asus 21.5" ips monitors. I know they aren't true ips monitors but at $150 a pop is an inexpensive way to get into surround.

It works just fine and got good reviews. Though now that I have oc'd my cpu(s) to their max of 855 core I'm pulling 1250w at the Kill-A-Watt. So factor in 85 efficiency and I'm 1065w. I have a feeling that my Cooler Master 1.2kw could have been able to handle it as it can max out around 1400w. I could probably go higher on the gpu(s) as three of them have flashed bios but the fourth and newest one has the stock bios and doesn't budge beyond 1.163v. I'm pretty happy with so far with my scores; 3d11 max I reached was 18.1k, that's 1k more than my 580s and 2600k (17.1k).

The FC2 controller sucks. It causes all the fans to go into a loud high pitch squeal under 100%. I tried one fan and its the same thing. Can't return it as I painted it and made a few mods to the harness frown.gif. Time to look into another controller.

Damn, I found out I just bought the first pcb design that's notorious for whining under 10v frown.gif

Thankfully, part of Lamptron’s “About Us” page contains this bullet point: “Providing our global partners with a level of service that is consistent with our premium product range.” They have lived up to their stated goal and completely re-engineered both the FC-2 and FC-3 controllers. The whine is now a thing of the past.
While still a digital PWM design, as you can see the PCB looks like it has been simplified considerably. They took the original, fixed it and simplified it – all while retaining the same specs. Lamptron chose the PWM design to avoid the waste heat given out in a typical resistor-based design. (When a resistor is used, it lets only the set amount of voltage through while dumping the remaining input power as heat.)

Personal best so far. Three of the cards are capable of doing 1.200v but the fourth is running stock bios so it won't budge from 1.163v. Highest clocks all four will run together: 855/170/1900 @ 1.163v.




I went back to the Scythe controller since the Lamptron was a pos. I need to find a replacement controller asap as its heating up the Booster that sits above it. The Booster is running its fans all the time due to the heat being dumped by the Scythe. I have a couple of 40mm fans pointed at the controller but i need a replacement soon. I've don't trust Lamptron at this point since the one i bought on clearance was defective. Lost out on $25, but meh, lesson learned thumb.gif
