[Build-log] Danger Den Double Wide water build. Now with quad sli! - Page 3

That's a pretty slick case there. I've seen that one before when I was looking for a crazy case and ended up with a 3 tier tech bench. Those blocks polished up nice!! Black would look good. I was tempted. Can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks Hambone thumb.gif

Decided to tackle the wire management since I don't have my mb yet. Finally fired up all the fans and poo is my luck frown.gif I bought four BFG (yes, that's right extinct BFG wink.gif ) blue led 80mm fans from ppcs.com since they were on clearance @ $2.50/ea. Well, when i fired them up each initially to check for doa, I didn't notice any difference in color. Now that all of the fans are running in concert I noticed that three of the 80mm fans are a turquoise color while the single one does match the blue led of the R4s mad.gif. There's no point in returning them, I'm just going to keep them since these fans face the rear. I might switch them down the road (and possible all the fans) to something else with or without led(s).

The EVGA mb i picked up from the market has a possible bad pcie slot frown.gif. I'll be doing some more testing to confirm this. So far, I've been reading on the evga forums this is something that happens a bit on these boards.

Btw, new pics added of wire management

edit: making some progress with the motherboard. could be a jumper/power issue for the pcie slots. I'll keep testing to see how it fairs.

Its the "21" model which has the standard atx layout. I think the "29" model is the xl-atx 9/10 slot version.

Edit: forgot to add: I just got my HK mb block from swc.com. I don't have the correct d-plugs yet so I'll be running a single card on the stock cooler for now. I'll be plumbing the mb tonight and take pics smile.gif

Ah. For some reason it looked bigger then the 21 model. Hmmm thinking.gif I've been tempted to get a 29 (single wide) for my next build. What are your thoughts on the DD quality?

Quality is awesome but there's that "custom" case factor and feeling to it. Not big complaints but some things that can be deal breakers for others. It has some wire management on the mb panel, and that's it. The panels are constructed of 3/8"(9.5mm) of acrylic which needs some custom length screws for radiator mounting (something that mcmastercarr.com will help.). Other than that, its not that deep so with three radiators with push/pull, an e-atx mb, and sleeved cables, space runs out.

Im waiting on fittings to come in so updates will be slow.

I sold my supreme hf and picked up a koolance 360 for cheap. The supreme is going towards a good cause that Im glad to have contributed (though it was a small part wink.gif ) to.

edit: Just got the 35mm Bitspower D-plugs in.

btw, I'm seriously thinking of buying a Caswell plug-n-plate diy nickel plating kit. I've heard the brushing plating doesn't do a good job but you can use it in the traditional electroplating method of immersion. Its not that expensive and will probably much more cost-effective then getting them professionally plated or buying plated blocks.
