You can get a good idea on what the "golden" or really, really good chips are.

This was without AVX - the AVX version @ 6700mb is stable at 1.33v - Temps are really high - 80c - H100 tonight or tomorrow!

You can't compare 2500k to 2600k. My roomate has chip that can do the same.

It depends on max multi too sometimes..
But if you can get stable at 1.41-1.42v with HT then i myself would call it golden.

I have a 2700K @ 5.0ghz -1.42v rock solid and i havnt seen much chips do this so in my world, its golden thumb.gif

I made a percentile rankings of SB -k chips (not sorted by i5/i7), so 1.44 V would be 50th percentile, better than half the chips. You're better than between 25-50% of chips, not hot, but could be worse.

I'd say a golden chip for 5.0 would be 1.375 V or lower, the top 10% of chips.

Wait a minute.... u mixed 2500k's with 2600k/700ks?

It's not ideal, but by separating them, the sample sizes would be too small to draw any sort of conclusion. Some of them already don't have too great of a sample size, further reducing it would lead to numbers no where near accurate. If more people were to post their OCs to the stable club (where I grabbed the numbers), I could get more data and then see about separating them, but with the current counts, separating 2500k, 2600k, and 2700k isn't really feasible.

But then you compare his chip against other semi-golden chips. The amount of SB-k chips that reach 5GHz is already quite a few std devs past the mean. IAW compared to the chips that do 5GHz his OC is average but when you compare it to the whole pack it's pretty impressive. I agree it's not golden but it's certainly in the upper range of chips. Also n is not very large to make an accurate estimate.

True, btw the difference in binning between the SKUs do not differ that much. Combining the samples was the best thing to do from a statistics perspective.
