Daemon Tools contains a driver called sptd.sys that causes a world of issues with Windows 7. I never even had it installed in the first place because of that reason alone. I can't tell you how many BSODs cases I've seen that were directly caused by Daemon Tools. After you've remove Daemon Tools, ensure it has also removed sptd.sys. You can check by C:/Windows/System32/Drivers. If you have it, it will be in there.
If you still have it, simply use DuplexSecure
to remove it.
I have only had one BSOD due to Daemon tools [running win 7], and that was due to a conflict that I had updated my ATI drivers, and for some reason a conflict occurred.
Aside from that single time, all the years I've had windows 7 [got it within the first month], I haven't had any other problems.
I'm not saying other people may not, but I don't see Daemon Tools as the Windows 7 antichrist.
