[Need Suggestions] Silent/Quiet CPU Water Loop + Case Recommendation

Thread Starter
Hey Guys,

As my sig rig states, I already have a custom waterloop that is serving me very well. I look to make a second build for either 24/7 folder or gaming.. Havent figured out which case will be for which set up..

My current water loop isnt really quiet and with all the fans/blue leds it isnt amazing for a 24/7 folding machine unless I move it to a new location in house to be run 24/7.

So I am looking for a silent/quiet loop for CPU watercooling and would love suggestions on either a kit or custom parts (if custom please list all parts)

On top of that I would love the recommendation for a case to go with the loop that will fit it nicely and doesnt need to be modded. I would also prefer if the water loop was inside the case and not on the outside.. A mid size case would be nice since I have a full already. I would love any and all sugestions.

Thanks!

Many people have caselabs, I too also wanted one at one point. (Since caselabs is in california, taxes kills the deal for me.) I currently have a mountainmod case which is quite nice, but nothing compare to the superior caselabs.

For silence setup, I recommend dual pump (/w dual pump mod)running low settings speeds, depending on your budget and which size trim fans you'll be using. (140mm thermal x-silent(10$), 120mm yateloon(5$), gentle typhoon ap15(20$+)) I used all of the fans which are great and known in watercooling for rpm/performance and price wise. I also recommend a fan controller.

Waterblocks overall are within same specs of 1-10c difference, if you not dying to get the best performing waterblock than it boils down to asthetic.

Hope this answer your question ,If you have anymore please ask.

What did you mean by dual pump? as in literally 2 pumps running low settings? Recommendation on pump?

What kind of watercooling (rads) can I set up in the caselabs you recommended?

Thanks for answering!
Yes, literally two pumps. I'm currently using mcp655 (mcp655 was the only pump I used, some people recommend mcp355, but these two pump are main ones for reliability/performance)/w bitspower dual pump mod. If you choose caselabs there are endless combination of rads, Depending the case you choose, I personally like the th10 which can house multiple quad 120mm trim radiators. IIRC up to 4x 120mm quad, if not more /w their accessories. cables management is fairly decent as there plenty of holes from psu side of the case to run through mobo side. visit their site www.caselabs.net to explore their case and accessories. also they are among us on ocn.net

Wouldnt a 2 pump system be over kill for a CPU only loop? Even at slower flow speeds? I reall appreciate all the help thus far!
overkill? Yes it will be, I figured since your aiming for silence you'll eventually watercooling your gpu as well(gpu fan can be one of the loudest componets in your case)
dual pump provides great redundancy for a 24/7 rig incase one of the pump dies, at least you have another one running(hope your not bad luck in which case both pump fails) also depending what fittings, waterblock. multiple radiators that will be in your loop. (pretty much kill 2 bird /w 1 stone. instead of upgrading in the future)

I use this pump on a fan-controller and use about 2 third of its power. I find it to be very silent.

For radiators i would look into one with a wide fin structure so you can use low rpm fans

You definitely want a pump to where you can adjust its speed, running a pump at full speed with only a CPU block is not necessary and dumps some heat from the pump into the loop. A Swiftech MCP655 has 5 speed setting and is consider pretty quiet even at full speed, later if you add GPU blocks to your loop this pump could more than handle a couple more blocks. As for radiators Hardware Labs SR1 Series or XSPC RX Series are well built radiators designed to run low to medium speed fans.

On my current loop i have a DCC-1 on the power supply and not on the fan controller. Would it be better if I put it on the fan controller? Running slower speed would increase the temp no?

Any other recommendations for a case that would support interior rads.. 240 or 360?
use some medium speed yate loons. I have 15 of them in my case and i am very happy with the noise level. quad rad with push pull and triple rad with push pull. and one intake.
