It does suck but next time do research ask people (more than one!) and make sure you remember everything you are doing.

Hey mate why are you blaming me or pointing fingers at me I didn't break any CPU or anything I am just trying to help the OP thats all. No need to get worked up on me.

I'm not blaming you or pointing fingers at anyone, I'm simply stating that if you break a component whatever it is that you should be responsible, unless you did everything by the book and it stopped working on you.

Quite shocking at the amount of people in this thread suggesting you abuse the RMA system. Don't do this, you made a mistake, and Intel doesn't cover for this specific mistake, so you learned from it. For future reference, be very careful in the BIOS and only adjust things if you know what you're getting into / know what you're adjusting, because as you can see... one mistake can void something very easily.

Goodie goodie hypocrites in these forums, you all make me sick. If it was your money, you'd go for the RMA and if you deny it, your a liar.

OP: Don't stop at anything till you get an RMA.

OP: Don't stop at anything till you get an RMA.

How can you even say that, that's the biggest inaccurate generalization if I've ever seen one. If I made a mistake in the BIOS by adding way too much voltage and killing my CPU, I'd call Intel and tell them what happened. If they say sorry, nothing they can do, that's it... I move on and hop on a temporary for as long as I have to. I killed my SATA Controller not too long ago, took my HDD with it too. It was my fault, I was connecting a broken Front USB header to the board and it caused a short. I told Asus and Samsung what happened and they both granted me RMAs.

Also, when you lie about an RMA, you're hurting the company way more than you think, also the consumer. They don't just have stockpiles of hardware laying around for people who break their hardware, you know.

Discussing warranty fraud is not a good idea. This is an overclocking community, NOT a place that supports the notion that you can extract free hardware from manufacturers by lying to their customer service team. Overclocking is a risk, it either pays off or blows up in your face whether you intend for that to happen or not, and if you can't live with that, maybe you don't belong here.

CLOSED.
