sapphire 7950 - battlefield 3 issues

i've been running my sapphire 7950 for about a week now and i have not been completely satisfied with the battlefield 3 performance (other games run fine). now, this could be some driver issue (currently running 11.12) or some game glitch, but it seems like when i am playing, i get lag (game choppiness) everywhere. i am running the msi ab on-screen program and i am getting good frame rates. i have my in-game settings at: 1920x1080, ultra everything, msaa off, fxaa high, hbao, motion blur off, draw distance 90. i am averaging at, or above 60 fps. but the game feels laggy to me. in my other system, i was running an overclocked msi gtx 580 lightning xe and a i7-920 @ 4ghz with higher settings, and it was smooth as butter. it can't be the servers because i play in the same servers on both systems. do i need a driver update? i am currently on my sig rig. also, gpu temps do not break 65*C. any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

also, i run battlefield 3 out of my steam games list. not sure if this matters, just throwing it out there.

The new 79xx series have fresh drivers which need maturing. The 580 has been proven and tested with multiple driver updates which have essentially (according to nvidia) boosted BF3 performance by a total of like 30% or something.

Given that the 7950 achieves numbers a little less than the 580 for BF3, I would assume that the drivers are whats holding your 7950 back.

Tried overclocking? Tried V-sync and see if there are still choppiness?
