Low profile or low width 120mm Fan

Thread Starter
So at the top of my case I have space to put two 120mm fans, the only problem is that when I installed my mobo I tried to put the 120mm fan there but it would interfer with the 4-pin cpu power (It fit it just was a little unnerving to have that hear the power where it pushed the cable.) and the RAM slot tabs blocked the fan. So I'm wondering if anyone has seen low width 120mm fans (the standard width is 25mm and the low profile ones are about 12mm)?

Thanks!thumb.gif

There are the Scythe Slip Streams, which are 12mm, or the Yate Loon 20mm fans. PPCs has this selection.

I have a Slip Stream medium, it is OK as a case fan.

At first I say the Slip Stream Slim's but after reading tests on them they are sucky only pulling about 8.3 CFM (There rated at about 38 CFM) and they have about 29 dB while the Yate is about 28 dB and runs exactly at about 30 CFM.....and it's half the price as well.....I think why the Slip Stream performed so badly is that it has too many fins so it spreading all the air over a log of distance...as for the other one it has about 7 fins on it. So yea.

Anyone else can give me any links to diffrent slim fans?

However, the YL are over 60% thicker so it is not quite far to compare them directly.

The reason the SlipStreams have more fins is probably because there is a lower limit on their thickness/angle. It was better to use more fins than a fewer shallow fins.
Once again...
