Asus Xonar DX

Hey guys,
Just baught an Asus Xonar DX soundcard off a mate which was working perfetically fine in his computer, i have installed it on mine and the sound is brillient and everything but theres this constant humm which gets louder as the volume is turned up on my headset, it sounds liek interfeiernce but im not sure what from??? ive tried moving the card into another pci slot and cleaning the drivers and re installing the latest drivers.

no its fine on onboard, i am using a tritton pc510 headset this is the link

it was fine on onboard sound and the soundcard works fine in my mates mobo, i cant et my head round what will be causing the interfeiernce

I'm not sure if DX uses the same control panel as the DG, but check to see if you've got SVN on. SVN is Smart Volume, which supposedly balances the volume levels of the different media you're playing, or at least from what I've seen, and I've noticed some static or interference type noise from it when it is activated.

Also, try connecting your headset directly to the soundcard, not the Front Audio and see if it improves. It could be a combination of both that's messing up your sound.

UPDATE:

i changed my psu and case last weekend, found that its my fan controller causing the humming noise in my headset, now when i adjust the nobs on my fan controller it changes the buzzing sound louder/quieter. anyone know why my fan controller will be causing this????
