Cooling for my new build

Thread Starter
Hey, I'm looking to be doing a fairly decent upgrade shortly. Going with a P67 board (unsure as to which) i5 2500k, 8GB Ram (RipJawX) and GPU I am still unsure about, possibly 560ti or thereabouts. My question is, will air cooling be enough for this system (mind you my computer is on the floor in the basement and it is VERY dusty)? If so what heatsing/fan do you guys recommend. Also, I was thinking of using the same crappy mid-sized Ultra case I have now (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2337812&CatId=1842) should I get a Full sized case as opposed to mid-sized for air cooling? I was debating about liquid cooling as well but will only go that route if I need too/have extra money at the time of purchase.

get a better case, doesn't have to be a full tower case, I found that actually my mid tower case cools really well, straight front to back air flow. as for a cooler, depends on your budget, if you are looking low budget, hyper212+ or the hyper212 EVO, if you have roughly 60 ish bucks get the nzxt havik, if you want to go to the top, get a noctua d14 or a silver arrow

if you go with a top dog cooler like the D14 make sure that you buy normal ram instead of these mid tall sticks.
you dont need such sticks anyway.

the hyper 212+ or evo is a pretty good choice cause its cheap and can handle the temps easily.

also it doesnt matter if you go with air or water cooling in case of dust.
the airflow will be almost the same, just make sure that you clean if continuously

Not "normal" RAM -- that might be construed as Ripjaws or something. Get LOW PROFILE RAM. With the low Voltages (1.65v and lower) that current RAM uses a low profile -- flat down on the PCB -- is all you need, if that.

Silver Arrow is your best bet cooler ATM. Two wonderful TY-140 fans -- 140mm PWM, the best there is. And the heatsink is top notch.

And I concur with the mid-size case. It's the best for airflow. Some ideas for that in my sig.
