1.39v too high for 2500k @ 4.5ghz? - Page 3

I got mine running @ 4.5Ghz on 1.27v all day, every day.
Tests stable with even the AVX IBT, which is certainly the most thorough I've seen.
Needless to say, I jelly the 4.5Ghz on 1.212v. lol
It certainly seems a bit luckier than most. smile.gif

I could get 4.9Ghz on 1.39v before AVX was used.
Also hit 5.0Ghz stable on 1.42v before, too.
Not sure how much more it would actually take for 5.0Ghz stable with AVX,
but I personally hesitate pushing too much more to find out.

Anyways-- just thought I'd contribute my numbers. smile.gif

I run 4.5 at 1.4v 24/7. Runs perfectly fine and is as stable as a standard clock. Wouldn't worry about yours at all mate.

That seems a bit high to me for just 4.5Ghz, i'm running 4.5Ghz @ 1.26v.

The bump in VTT/VCCIO helped alot. I was finally able to complete the conversion of the video I wanted. I'm @ 1.4vcore right now with LLC @ Level 2. In the next few days I'll see if I can't get that vcore down thumb.gif

Thanks guys.

EDIT: Also, my temps aren't too bad. During the conversion of the video, the highest temp I got was 59c on Core 2, with 25c ambients. This is with a 3000RPM GentleTyphoon pulling (won't fit in push with the RAM sinks) + the fan averaged 2100RPM (I 4-wire PWM modded it).

Are people seriously taking the 1.52V max VID as the absolute maximum Vcore still more than a year after SB's release? I'm no one to categorically affirm that 1.52V is not a safe voltage, but there's no source from Intel that suggests 1.52 is the absolute maximum

^ while there isn't proof of major degradation of sb's running 1.5+ 24\7 I would never touch 1.5 unless for a quick bench.

Yeah, personally I wouldn't go over 1.375 - 1.4V. That was the absolute maximum for Gulftown also on 32nm. I don't see how it would magically jump to 1.52V
Could be too conservative, I know it's a new architecture, but my point is that if someone is ready to push >1.5V into their chips don't do it based on Intel specs, because Intel never published absolute maximums for SB

I'd do it based on the amount of people pushing past 1.4v to get 4.8+. That being said, I can run 5.0 @ 1.4v.

Running 4.6Ghz with 1.248v here 24/7 no problems at all thumb.gif

Personally i'm scared to go over 1.3v since i want my chip to last long.
