VRM and VRAM overheating?

I just finished doing the antec 620 cooler mod and i currently have nothing cooling my vram and vrm.. i was wondering what would exactly happend if they overheated? would it be permanently damaged and i would have to get a new card or would it just shut off to save it?

Either the card will shutoff due to it recognizing heat issues or you'll blow the MOSFET VRM's...they're literally blow up...tiny explosion.

Get some good heatsinks on them then a good case fan or blower fan.
