Thread Starter
Hey guys, i've just done a fresh install of windows 7 64 into a new Crucial M4 128gb ssd. The boot up time seems slower. Using boot racer, i got around 21 seconds. Heres the vid of my boot up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPBId1VGd5Q&context=C3dab3e2ADOEgsToPDskLmwSLqQQpk6t-rKNVjn4h7
Help would be appreciated biggrin.gif

Check out my optimization guide: http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds

Disable some of the start up programs, install the proper up to data sata drivers, etc.

Use AS SSD if anything, it is actually made for SSDs.

Hey pcguru000, at the part where it says Welcome, it stays there for a rather long time. Most vids i see on bootups only stays at the welcome page for around 3 seconds.

Anyway, thank links you guys posted. smile.gif

Also, do you happen to have any USB devices plugged in the PC? If so that sould also cause slightly longer boot times, you should only see the Welcome screen for a second or so, no more.

sean, your guide is too complicated for me to understand haha.. anyway i've only got mouse and keyboard attached through usb. Probably not ssd's problem. I;ve got a 7.9 rating on the windows rating thingy..even though its not really accurate. Probably some settings.

For the road kill thing, i cant select a drive to test frown.gif so cant use it

First, post a screenshot of AS SSD, LINKED ABOVE IN MY PREVIOUS POST.

Take 10 minutes, it is not complicated at all once you see what it is. tongue.gif

Also, hat motherboard do you have?
