Or games where you save anytime, anywhere. Those allow you to pick some rather demanding scenarios and compare directly using the savegame. (skyrim, serious sam 3, amalur etc)

I agree. Metro has one of the best bench tools around IMO. I also thought of a few more I'm going to do: LinX, Lost Planet 2, Crysis 1 bench, WPrime, PCMark 7....

Any other ideas for benchmarks guys???

You should do some in game play testing. To see the difference from a users point of view.

I can't wait! I have the 2600K rig almost completely set up for the throwdown. I will be building the SB-E rig early Saturday morning (2/18/12) and hope to have everything downloaded and installed by Sunday morning. Then the grudge match begins!

One thing I am concerned about is that all of my gaming benches are going to be GPU-limited by the single 580 Lightning in each rig. I wish I had more video cards but these are all I have....

Bf3 is having issues atm with the new patch i would wait till they fix their issue.

Absolutely. I'm parting out the entire Sandy Bridge rig (once I'm finished with it that is)!
