Cleaning HDD

Thread Starter
Okay, I'm going to be studying abroad over summer so I've decided to sell my HDD while the market is still good for sellers. I was wondering what's the best method to wipe to drive clean so the new owner has no ability to access my files through other means. I currently only have one computer that is able to utilize the HDD since my laptop is too small for the HDD to fit in it and I don't have an external enclosure. What's a good program that I can download (free preferrably) that can do this without requiring me to have a primary harddrive with windows on it.

Thanks!
