Overcloking AMD HD 7970

Hi everyone, i wanted to know if overcloking the HD 7970 from:

- Core Clock: 925 to 1125
and
- Memory Clock: 1375 to 1575

Is stable? or not?

No one knows it's all based off of the abilities of your chip. I can get mine stable up to 1250 but you could have a lemmon (Like my 2500K) and only be able to reach 1100. Test stability with heaven/3dmark and games. Some will reccomend furmark but I'd stay away from it personally.

Totally agree. Its a long process and must be done a little bit at a time.
I would start with the core, and keep going until it crashes, then note that down, and try again with extra voltage. When you have found the highest clock it will run stable, drop down a notch then repeat the whole performance with ram speed.

If your anything like me, by the time you have finished messing about, the 8970 will be out and you will wish you had just sat playing your games instead of looking at BSOD and researching failure codes on google... LOL

Interesting... The 7970 im going to get has 5500MHz Memory clock...

You are confusing the Memory clock and Memory data rate which is 5.5 Gbps.
