[TS] AMD Radeon HD 7770 & Radeon HD 7750 Review - Page 13

My GTX 560 from January 2011 smokes this thing. AMD lost the CPU market since Core 2 Duo and now they gonna lose the graphics wars to Nvidia and Intel. Seriously, this is the biggest fail since bulldozer.

Funny you should say that, considering the GTX560 came out in May, not January of 2011. rolleyes.gif

Are you sure you didn't mean the GTX560 Ti?
If you did mean the 560 Ti, you should also realize that it is in a different price tier than the 7770. The 560 Ti is ~$50 more expensive.

The regular GTX560 is ~$10 more expensive than the 7770, but launch prices aren't always stable. Give it a couple weeks before judging the card's value.

at $159.99, the gtx560 came out for $40 more and the Ti for nearly $100 more. not that this card (7770) has a good price on it, but let's not get imaginative over here. it isn't supposed to compete with those anyway.

And yet.. my 460s also smoke this thing. And they came out in summer 2010. wink.gifrolleyes.gif

And keep in mind a '560' is just an overclocked (to only 810mhz.. practically all 460s are capable of this) 460. Seriously, the only way it's competitive is if it drops well below $140. (which is where the reference 6850s are)

Bulldozer lost to the Core 2 Duo???
Intel is in the graphics wars??
And AMD is still producing processors even though they "lost the CPU market"??

And it may just as well do that in a few weeks. Street prices often stray from MSRP after a bit, especially if there is a strong (+ or -) market reaction.

I'm trying to get the 7970 but putting a 7770 in crossfire would be, in a way satisfactory with a less electric bill. BUT DAMN I WANT THAT 7970 DirectCU2 (just because of the back plate) Yes, just like A1 steak sauce, it's that important. coolsmiley03.png

Clock for Clock AMD did lose.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/54?vs=434 E8600 is 270mhz slower yet beats out AMD's Flagship by 5% in SINGLE THREADED

More cores is not substitute for IPC

Awkward as a 2007 CPU is still faster.

After AMD FX X2 and the start of Core 2 Duo, AMD has NEVER been able to catch up.

Phenom 2 v Socket 775/1156 it did put up a fight and beat Intel in Price to performance.

You can buy a used HD 5850 ~ 100-120 which will destroy this card. If you care about power consumption then you are not looking for performance at that price level.
