Mind = Blown "Closed Loop GPU block" - Page 3

A little bit of a side step but, Isnt the cool it system designed to be upgradeable? For instance if there are no huge changes to the physical dimensions of a card for the next few generations you could keep the frame and just replace the interposers (which are supposed to be cheep compared to a normal full cover block) ?

If thats how its going to work whats going to keep me from say... yanking off the pump/rad and just integrating it into my own loop?
Buying a 50-70$ (im assuming that's going to be the price range) chunk of copper instead of a full custom (100$+) block every time you get a new card seems rather enticing to me especially if Im running SLI.

I have such a love hate relationship with closed loops.
They are a great idea, but only go so far...
Imagine running a H100 and 3 of these in my system... I'm not even sure that would be possible?
I think they work for single cpu/gpu applications, but think of SLI and dual chip rigs... once you go to multiples of anything, it seems like an actual loop would be way easier!

I love the idea of this cooler, if my next card I choose has one of these as a cooling option, I would definitely get it. I have an extra 120mm back fan slot I would love to throw this in.

I think this idea should be explored more, I would love to see it on an AMD card.

This is kind of already being done with "The Mod" except it's more expensive.

I think the reason the OMNI hasn't gone anywhere is due to CoolIT pulling out of the retail market once they partnered with Corsair. For their part, Corsair hasn't shown any indication that they'll pursue a Corsair-branded OMNI. I imagine the wide variety of cards available, and hence interposer plates, is a barrier to the high-volume production they would need to see to make it worthwhile for them.
