And from this we can conclude that, according to our elected officials, MONEY > HUMAN LIFE thumb.gif

I bet SOCA uses Internet Explorer...It's a pretty serious browser.

Ridiculous. 10 years for using the site? lol. It's just so outrageous when you actually think about it; a possible 10 YEARS in PRISON with hardened criminals (murders, rapists, aggressive and violent people, whatever) for downloading some RnB (most of it which is from un-signed artists or artists that are "underground").

I don't know much about the the EU legal processes, but I would hope that the 10 years and unlimited fine would be reserved for cases of a person making millions off of selling or promoting pirated content or something. Because yeah...if you steal enough money it becomes a more serious crime than killing some one. I am not saying its right or wrong, but that is the case.

I cannot believe that would happen to some one who went on the site and downloaded a few songs...even a lot of songs...hell, every song they linked to. I see a big fine and some probation at most.

WIth a mate being an up and coming musician in the drum and bass scene, he encourages people to download his tunes, free promotion is good promotion

Ohai, guise! What's going on in this thread?

Honestly though, it's not surprising that this will probably go unquestioned. When your government does nothing but instill fear upon its people, everyone cowers. As for the 'Serious Derp Agency', I'm actually surprised the people of the UK didn't rise up as one and slay these pretentious poofs.
