Hey all,

I have the chance to get 2 6950's for around £160 each and was wondering if it would be good to upgrade from crossfire 6870's. I ask because I cannot overclock my 6870's because one of the is a ES. The two I can get are the HIS IceQ 2GB versions. I need a quick answer because I am ordering another monitor tonight.

Thanks.

Yes you will see a decent increase.
Are you getting reference 6950's to flash them to 6970's?

I don't know if it will really be worth it. I would just wait until the 7950 or 7970 drop in price. I have 2 dirt3 6950's unlocked and in CF, and wish I would have waited now.

They are the non reference ones. The HIS ICEQ 2GB.

I would just get a solid 7950 or 7970.
Sell what you have now and put the extra money towards it if needed.

Just wait for a solid 7970, I ran trifire 6950's reference unlocked and OC'd for a while and now I have 2x 6870's (long story). But coming from both worlds I would just put my money on the future upgrade compatibility.
