Quick question gpu upgrade or tri-fire?

Hey guys, I know the question have been asked many many times but i can't find the right answer for me so I am asking should I change GPU or just wait. I have a budget of 300$ and i dont want to spend money for equal performance, I want an improvement so my config:
2600k
p8z68-v gen3
16gb corsair low profile
2x5770
I am running in 5760*1080
First I am not sure but can anyone confirm that p8z68-v gen3 can run tri-fire?
So my choice of GPU are:

2x6850 crossfire +active adapter
1x5770+PSU
1x6950

1 6950 2gb. Running at that res, the 2GB will be very helpful.

will I see much improvement from 2x5770?

Yes.

I must mention, at that resolution you can't expect extreme performance at that price mark.
