Help building a system with a budget...

Looking to build a nice overclocking system, and based have a budget of $800 could stretch it to a $1000 if need be, could use some advice as I haven't built anything since the amd 2100+ days. So recommend away I'm all ears.

This is a decent gaming rig, didnt really spend too much time thinking about it though. Might be able to chop and change and possibly throw in a SSD.

edit: link to bigger picture, image shack has obviously changed recently meaning your image always gets scaled.

I like the idea of a Phenom II x4/x6 + 990X board + 6950 + 120GB SSD + 2TB HDD build at this budget....... it's doable

Have a model on a chip that might be a good overclocker on the phenom II's?

Not sure on the microcenter how would I find that out? Hmmm is the 2500k as good as the 8120 for Overclocking? Ive heard that was a pretty hot chip as well.. Long as i am around 1,000 for the setup guess amd/intel would work..
