2TB?

Thread Starter
I will be doing my first build in April and I want an 2TB or higher drive that has good write speeds for fraps running 1920X1080 at 60 or 30FPS for a good price. Thanks for your help in advance! Thanks!

Are you planning on reading and writing to the same drive? That would be a bad idea. If at all possible have the games installed on a different drive than you are recording to.

Caviar Blacks have always been good in my experiences.

Yes I would definitely used the ssd for a boot drive and essential games that i play often. Then use a subfolder to write fraps on the HDD.

However if you must have just one HDD then a WD black hard drive is essential or a Samsung f3.

WD Black and Samsung F3 are outdated.

Get either Hitachi 2TB/3TB 7K3000 or Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001/ST2000DM001

Those are the fastest drives on the market right now.

HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000.D is currently the fastest 1TB single platter 7200rpm on the market right now.
