EXTREMELY TERRIBLE VIDEO PLAYBACK ON PHENOM 1090T/GTX 560 - AWFUL.

Hello. I am trying to watch 1080p videos on a very modern rig which can run BF3 on Ultra. 1090T CPU and GTX560. But it won't even play HD videos with any media player. The audio is out of sync and the framerate spikes up down down between 1-11 fps. I am extremely disappointed in such a modern rig performing worse than a Pentium M laptop. Someone help. me.

Hard drive thrashing.

Or your rig doesn't like caps lock.

Either way hard drive thrashing. Or whatever bonehead formatted the 1080p sucks and thinks you can actually perform a proper compression with such a large resolution.

I feel fairly confident in my Hitachi 7200RPM 500GB hard drive.. the 5400RPM 20GB hard drive in my Dell Latitude D600 can play it.

Your hard drives are being used by something else on the side. Try running two videos at the same time. I'll bet you freeze up.

I solved the cause of my misery. I rendered the video in 720P .wmv format.

1080P and .avi don't mix.

Just a word of advice, you shouldn't be rendering uncompressed ever unless you have a very specific reason to do so...
