I have a question and i hope somebody might know. I have a x6 1090t in my computer but my computer only shows 4 cores when i look at things like task manager or amd overdrive. do i need to tell it that it is a 6 core processor?

have you gone through the BIOS and see if they are active?

have you updated the BIOS to the recent one?

*some motherboards need a updated BIOS to detect the extra cores sometimes*

whats the name of the Proccessor when you use CPU-Z?

msconfig cpu tweak
This tweak makes your computer use all of its cores/processors on start up.

Depending on how many processors or cores you have this config tweak may vary according on speed.

Go to start then type in msconfig on the start menu search box.

On the box that comes up, go to the boot tab click advanced options and on the box that comes up, check number of processors and set it to 2 if you have dual core or 2 processors or 4 if you have quad core or 4 processors or 8 if you have dual processors each with 4 cores. Then click ok and reboot.

There select 6...

Lul wat?
AMD Overdrive is an overclocking software program, not an option in the BIOS that can be disabled.
Also, nothing disables 2 cores, they just down clock them. This means the cores and threads would still be active.
