If your BIOS is up to date, then it should be able to see the CPU as a 6-core.

If nothing else, you could give the BIOS core unlocker a shot.

Question, did you used to have a quad core and you threw in that 6 core? or is this all on a new windows installation?

on my old Corsshair III I started with a Ph II x2 555 then I moved up to the Ph II x6 1090T and when ever you change cpu you dont need to do a fresh install its only when you change mobo that a fresh install is better
